THIS WEEK: Friday, March 1st, First Fridays in the Arts District is back to celebrate the Richmond Arts District with happy hour specials, store and sidewalk sales, vendor markets, opening exhibits, live performances, community celebrations & more throughout the Arts District’s galleries, restaurants, and shops.

Here are just a few of the events you’ll find at First Fridays in the Richmond Arts District:

Sculpting History at the Valentine Studio: Art, Power, and the “Lost Cause” American Myth
Open until 9PM at The Valentine

Opening in January 2024, Sculpting History uses artworks sculpted by Edward Valentine as well as documents, objects, images, quotations, and questions to connect the Lost Cause myth to today. A powerful multimedia presentation reveals links between the Lost Cause campaign, Edward Valentine, and Richmond’s monuments. Guests are encouraged to reflect on their own experiences and share their vision of the future.
